'Prof Madhu Chakraborty - the Director of IIT Bhubaneswar, was in the UK during the month of May doing collaborative work with Lord Bhattacharya at Warwick University.

He and his wife Debjani took time out to visit Peter Chan at his farm in Surrey over the weekend of 22nd May and BK Gurtu and Shoba were also able to show them round London on  Saturday 22nd May.

On Sunday 23rd May , Peter hosted a lunch to mark their visit and many who knew Prof Chakraborty from their IIT Kharagpur days were able to meet him.

Also present were Ms Jo Nesbitt and Prof Ajit Shenoi of Southampton University who know Prof. Chakraborty well.

It was a very happy occasion . Prof Chakraborty went on to  describe the exciting  challenges he faces in setting up a new IIT from scratch.
