You are cordially invited to the screening of the acclaimed documentary film on the Ramanujan Academy in Patna produced by ORTV International Production in association with Teamwork Films India. The documentary has been produced by Veronica Gledhill Hall and directed by Christopher Mitchell
This film is about a remarkable school. Each year Patna’s Ramanujan School of Mathematics selects 30 young students and prepares them, entirely without charge, for entry to the Indian Institutes of Technology – acknowledged as the most difficult group of universities in the world to get into. Most are from low-caste backgrounds; all have a talent for mathematics. The Super30 course is subsidised by the efforts of its founder, Anand Kumar, and his teacher-colleague Abhayanand, also Bihar’s Deputy Chief of Police.
Granted exclusive access to the Ramanujan School, ORTV followed last year’s Super30, from their initial selection in September 2006, through seven months of unrelenting study and examinations, to the moment when the IIT results were announced in May 2007.
